Die Zeit - Capri in a new light
Photographer Umberto D'Aniello bereaves Capri of its color. Even famous landmarks like the Blue Grotto are in black and white. Together with publisher Yvonne Meyer-Lohr and the Capri native, writer Claretta Cerio, he wanted to show the hidden beauty of this island in the Gulf of Naples in this illustrated volume. Removed from the clichés of the chichi, carefree and idle Italy. Quotes head each of the ten chapters. Especially charming are the querulous ones by Rilke. Even though a fan book was created that reminisces more than it explains. Claretta Cerio gets lost in her revels at times. The Terrazza degli amanti is a "romantic place where love grows". The photographs a more impressive. Through their stark contrasts the Capresian Photographer creates moods even in known motives. The picture shows the needlelike Faraglioni cliffs.
