Rotary Magazin--Capri
Claretta Cerio, born Wiedermann (*1927 in Capri), writer is one of the most famous people on the island. She was the wife of writer Edwin Cerio (1875 – 1960) 52 years her senior. She spent her childhood on two islands, Capri and her fathers native Sylt. During the war she was at the German school in Rome and studied later at the University of Naples philology. Her dissertation was about Capri in German literature. Besides her novels which often play in Capri, she writes for newspapers, magazines and radio and translates. Since 1970 she's been living in Tuscany. For the Munich publisher Prestel she wrote accompanying texts for an extraordinary illustrated coffee table book. Through very expressive black and white pictures by Umberto D'Aniello it shows Capri in a new light. Put together and designed by Yvonne Meyer-Lohr it was just released.
